Castle Rock Computing announces Microsoft Visio® support in SNMPc OnLine 2007

Network managers can now use SNMPc OnLine 2007 and Microsoft Visio® to create a graphical representation of their network infrastructure, presenting a highly customized management interface from any web browser.

Saratoga, CA, June 11, 2007

Castle Rock Computing announced the introduction of SNMPc OnLine 2007. SNMPc OnLine is an add-on module for the companyĆs SNMPc Network Management System. It delivers a unified web based reporting front end for network statistics, alerts and node information. The 2007 release adds the capability to display Microsoft Visio® network drawings associated with subsets of the SNMPc topology map.

Companies which currently use Visio to document their network infrastructure can quickly create a highly customized representation of their managed network by directly importing existing Visio diagrams into SNMPc OnLine. Network managers will also benefit from the many included symbol types and the extensive drawing capabilities of the Visio application when creating new network drawings. Visio stencils, templates and drawings are available from many network device vendors and third party developers.

Visio

The use of Visio drawings is fully integrated into the SNMPc monitoring and management paradigm. SNMPc OnLine changes the color of Visio symbols to represent the status of associated devices, links and networks. Each symbol can also be clicked on to drill down into other Visio drawings or to display a detailed node information page. Visio diagrams can be shown as full page displays or as part of custom “dashboard” collections including network, event and report views.

SNMPc OnLine provides “out of the box” automated collection and presentation of pre-canned reports that deliver key network metrics such as availability and latency, device types such as routers, switches and servers. SNMPc OnLine also provides the flexibility to monitor any vendor specific management data.

SNMPc OnLine also integrates with the SNMPc alarm system, including the ability to monitor SNMP alerts. The integrated view of data reporting and alert collection on a single console greatly simplifies the task of proactively monitoring todayĆs heterogeneous network environments.

Using a simple Graphical User Interface, SNMPc OnLine users can easily design or adapt customized report views. A wide variety of graphs, charts and reporting styles are offered. Building a custom front end enables network managers to deliver personalized content to everyone in the organization who needs it.

The addition of Microsoft Visio support to SNMPc OnLine provides a new level of flexibility in network presentation which at the same time is fully integrated with the underlying SNMPc Management platform. SNMPc OnLine 2007 will be available in August and will be sold as a plug in module for SNMPc Enterprise for $3995.
